The letter said, "The school was started in 2005 and has neither procured the no-objection certificate ( NOC) from the state required for CBSE affiliation nor a provisional affiliation from the board." Madhur Bomb, parent of a student at the school, said, "Before admitting my child to the school I was told that the affiliation would come through by the beginning of the academic year. They also told me that the building would be up by the time the school starts. The school has applied for affiliation only on June 30, 2010, and the school operates different sections of the school from four campuses, one of which is in a commercial complex." Responding to the allegations, the school trustees have put up a notice on the school website clarifying that it was not illegal to run a school without an NOC, and that several schools have obtained provisional affiliation without production of the NOC. Head teacher Rama Narayanswamy said, "We have applied for a provisional affiliation. We expect to hear from the CBSE around November or December." She said that the government had allotted the land for the school building but hasn't yet handed it over to the management. "We expect to move the middle and high school into the new premises by the beginning of the next academic year, and the primary section during the first term in the next yea," she said. The letter from the parents said that "the management repeatedly ill treats and threatens the parents." Parents also displayed a text message received from the school on September 15 asking students to contribute to a book-donation drive. "Send 1 book through your ward tomorrow, positively. Or else your ward will be sent back home." "Managing trustee of Calibre Educational Foundation Madhuvanthi Arun personally met and addressed the concerns of the parents who questioned the school on the affiliation issue last week. The parents were specifically told that they have every right to ask these questions and that this would not affect the students in any way," Rama Narayanswamy said. The parents also alleged that the school charged high fees and hiked it in the middle of the year. The school management, countering their allegation, said: "The additional fees is being collected to ensure that the payscale (of teachers) is in line with leading schools across the country, to ensure continually high teaching standards and to ensure low staff turnaround in the interest of the children." The notice of the website, signed by founder trustee Arun K Vaddi, managing trustee Madhuvanthi Arun and trustee Arun C Mohan of Calibre Educational Trust, added, "When a suggestion is made by the Govindarajan committee after the inspection of the school we will comply by its recommendations. At Calibre Academy International School we believe in developing happy, knowledgeable, proactive and responsible global citizens by providing internationally competent quality education through a system of activity oriented teaching and participative learning. This is reflected in the systems adopted at Calibre Academy International School. Specific learning stations have replaced conventional classrooms. This makes their learning environment more active and varied, which is a progressive shift from the current methods that are sedentary and monotonous.Ĭompetence in the international scenario is possible only through active exchange with the worldwide educational environment. Calibre Academy International School has partnered with Edward Richardson Primary School (Awarded the International School Award by the British Council UK) under the Global School partnership scheme run by The British Council. The partnership is designed for mutual enrichment through an active exchange in the areas of syllabus teaching methodologies, teacher and student interactions between the two schools as well as exchange programs. Our students have been benefiting immensely from this international exchange, which in addition to academics, involves interaction with different backgrounds that develop their communication and soft skills, key factors in today's rapidly shrinking world. Partnerships are being forged with other prestigious organizations around the world, for example - Croydon Hills Primary school, Australia and St.
